Stress at work
Stress seems to have become another serious challenge for the modern busy man.
Extended working hours, deadlines and ever-increasing demands contribute to the subjective feeling of constant worry, fatigue and exhaustion.
Question "How to live without stress” is slowly becoming essential for the busy man. If stress management does not become a part of people's daily lives, health, vitality and peace of mind can be very expensive.
Causes of stress at work:
The causes of stress for modern man can be numerous.
Material existence, high demands of the work environment, poor communication, inadequate working conditions, insufficient rest and fear of losing one's job are just some of the reasons for stress.
New technologies
The acceleration we are witnessing brings its new, changed work environment.
Today's time and the application of new technologies create new and different conditions for employees.
Certainly, there are a number of positive effects of applying new solutions from the perspective of the company's functioning, such as:
- Faster results and efficiency - new technologies through speeding up the process, bring the possibility for employees to focus more on their main tasks.
- Easier storage and sharing of information - instead of searching for documents in folders and registers, everything has become more accessible.
- Greater mobility of employees, opening the possibility to work outside the office, as well as to engage experts from all parts of the world.
- Automation - simple, manual operations are transferred to machines and computers.
- Better and faster communication - the world has become one global community, and a global market.
However, from the employees' perspective, new conditions have brought new reasons for stress at work.
New requirements
1. Employees are expected to work more in shorter time frames than in previous decades.
Also, that trend only shows growth proportional to the application of new technologies.
2. Employees are expected to master new programs, systems and methods, although they are often not sufficiently or adequately trained for this.
3. As the application of technology is a growing trend, employees must constantly develop and adopt new methods and new skills. This in itself is not bad, however, for many employees it is also a great source of stress, especially if they are not fans of computerization. For a large number of them, staying after working hours is the only possibility to master the new requirements.
4. Already adopted computer programs are often changed, they get new versions that can sometimes differ significantly from the previous ones. This kind of constant change often creates a subtle sense of lack of self-confidence, even in cases where the employee has an excellent command of his work material.
5. A large number of employees worry that automation and digitization will bring even greater unemployment, and that they may be out of a job in the future. Fear of losing your job is a powerful source of stress.
6. A large number of data, books, photographs and research are stored in computer memories. The fear of losing all data often causes stress and forces employees to make frequent and constant backups.
7. Employees communicate less than in previous decades. Simple human relationships and friendly conversations are being replaced by voice messages, text messages and e-mails. In the long term, it can bring stress, anxiety and feelings of isolation.
"How to live without stress?” for these reasons, it becomes an indispensable and serious topic for reflection.

Stress control
A life completely devoid of stress may not even be possible. That wouldn't even be a desirable state, because in the right measure, stress can help us deal with challenges, gather all our strength, grow, develop and overcome challenges.
But when stress remains constantly at a high level, and we don't have appropriate answers and methods for stress control, stress can bring illness, depression and exhaustion.
